Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 5, 2026

ApexRide ("we", "our", "us") is a motorcycle ride tracking application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo.

Location data: With your permission, we collect GPS location data to record rides, display routes on maps, and enable group ride features. Location is collected in the foreground during active rides and, if you enable Auto-Detection, in the background to detect new rides.

Ride & telemetry data: Speed, distance, duration, elevation, and route coordinates recorded during your rides.

Device data: Activity recognition sensor data (used solely to detect when you start or stop riding).

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your data may be shared in these limited ways:

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in MongoDB hosted on a secured cloud service. Ride data recorded locally on your device is stored using Android's Room database. All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.

5. Location & Background Permissions

ApexRide requests location permissions for ride tracking. Background location access is only used when Auto-Detection is enabled and is required to detect ride starts when the app is not in the foreground. You can disable this at any time in Settings → Ride Detection → Auto-Detection.

6. Your Rights

7. Children's Privacy

ApexRide is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
